Journal of Xi’an Jiaotong University (Monthly), founded in 1960, is a 210mm×285mm journal openly published at home and abroad. It is a comprehensive academic journal of natural sciences sponsored by the Ministry of Education of China and hosted by Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU). With the purpose of “publishing high-quality papers, creating famous brands, running first-class journals, striving for timeliness, promoting communication, and recruiting scientific and technological talents”, this journal has shown visible characteristics in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering, adheres to the theories, originality and internationality, and endeavors to build academic platforms for communication to demonstrate outstanding research results.

The contents of the Journal are original with strong academic theories, obvious application values, and increasingly improved academic influence.  Indicators of the journals’ quality, such as, impact factor (IF) and impact index CI value consistently rank top among journals of the same kind. So far, 46 articles have been rated as “F5000-China’s Top Academic Papers of Fine Science and Technology Journals”. Furthermore, they have been designated as source journals by such a great number of important domestic and foreign databases and evaluation systems such as US Engineering Index (EI CD version), British Science Digest, US Chemical Abstracts, German Mathematics Digest, Chinese Science Citation Database, Chinese Science and Technology Papers Statistics and Analysis (Annual Report), Overview of Chinese Core Journals, Chinese Academic Journals Comprehensive Evaluation Database, Chinese Academic Journals (CD version), Wanfang Data System-Digital Journal.  

The Journal has won the second prize of the “Ministry of Education of China’s Excellent Science and Technology Journal” in 1999 and was listed as the “Chinese Periodical Matrix” in 2001. In addition to being selected as “China’s Fine Science and Technology Journal” for four consecutive years since 2008, it has won honors like “Top 100 Outstanding Chinese Academic Journals” since 2003  for six consecutive times and the “Chinese University Fine Science and Technology Journal” for five consecutive years. In 2016, it was awarded the title of “Chinese University Outstanding Science and Technology Journal” and “China Excellent Academic Journal of International Influence”, gaining recognition by an increasing number of authors, readers, and peers.
